A Remark on Quasi-isometries

We show that if f : Bn -IRn is an e-quasi-isometry, with e < 1, defined on the unit ball Bn of Rn, then there is an affine isometry h : Bn -Rn with lIf(x) -h(x)|I < Ce(l+logn) where C is a universal constant. This result is sharp.

The Pluricomplex Poisson Kernel for Strongly Convex Domains

In the past decades the study of pluri-potential theory and of its applications played a central role in complex analysis in several variables. In particular, since the basic work of Siciak [31] and Bedford and Taylor [7], [8] a great effort was made to understand the complex MongeAmpère operator and the associated generalized Dirichlet problems (for instance, see [15], [20] and references ther...

On isometries of the Carathéodory and Kobayashi metrics on strongly pseudoconvex domains

Let 1 and 2 be strongly pseudoconvex domains in Cn and f : 1 → 2 an isometry for the Kobayashi or Carathéodory metrics. Suppose that f extends as a C1 map to ̄1. We then prove that f |∂ 1 : ∂ 1 → ∂ 2 is a CR or anti-CR diffeomorphism. It follows that 1 and 2 must be biholomorphic or anti-biholomorphic. Quasi-Primary Decomposition in Modules Over Proufer Domains

In this paper we investigate decompositions of submodules in modules over a Proufer domain into intersections of quasi-primary and classical quasi-primary submodules. In particular, existence and uniqueness of quasi-primary decompositions in modules over a Proufer domain of finite character are proved. Proufer domain; primary submodule; quasi-primary submodule; classical quasi-primary; decompo...

Quasi-isometries and Rigidity of Solvable Groups

In this note, we announce the first results on quasi-isometric rigidity of non-nilpotent polycyclic groups. In particular, we prove that any group quasiisometric to the three dimenionsional solvable Lie group Sol is virtually a lattice in Sol. We prove analogous results for groups quasi-isometric to R⋉Rn where the semidirect product is defined by a diagonalizable matrix of determinant one with ...
